OUR STORY
Katy, the founder of TruStyle, has loved jewelry since she can remember. She loves how these little pieces of metal can, by themselves, bring out the beauty and confidence of someone in such an effortless way. At the age of 19, she embarked on a trip of a lifetime. She funded herself and traveled to Japan to study jewelry design as she admired the Japanese culture and their commitment and respect towards artistries.
In 1993, Katy returned to Hong Kong to open a small workshop where she would make and sell her handmade jewelry. Since then, TruStyle has supported many brands to grow into successful international businesses. In two decades, Katy’s company has grown from one person, Katy herself, to a team of more than one hundred people. In 2017, Katy stepped down from her CEO position to pursue a new dream, and she passed the torch to her younger brother, Alex See.
Alex has been around jewelry from a very young age, and he joined TruStyle in 2009 alongside his older sister. Alex looks up to his sister, seeing her as the successful woman she is, a woman who has devoted her life and her career in pursuit of a dream but never forgetting her family and where she came from. Alex experienced first-hand how difficult it was for his sister to build a company on her own. That is why when Alex took over the company, he decided to make it TruStyle’s mission to be a brand that supports people to feel empowered and to go after their dreams. TruStyle wants to design jewelry pieces that will help everybody feel like themselves. Jewelry that will empower whoever wears it to express the person they want to become, independently of their gender, race, age, etc.
On top of this impressive commitment, Alex added another important one: sustainability. As of today, Alex is sourcing recycled materials to be used in TruStyle’s jewelry production and implementing a circular economy strategy to help save this fragile house of ours, the world.
